8 Things Guys Will Do When They Are Seriously In Love (Must Read)

8 Things Guys Will Do When They Are Seriously In Love

I have lots of male friends,in fact I love to keep them as friend even my parent know that very well.In my little study about guys and my interactions with them,I discovered that guys actually could get seriously in love with a girl and when they do,these are the signs

1.He will always want to be with you
It is possible for a guy to be always busy but the truth is,if a guy truly loves a girl,he will try to create time out of his busy schedule just to be with her.

2.He feels so confident about you
That moment when you step into a place and he walks up to you and tell you how gorgeous you look even though you are not putting on the best of clothes. If he sees beauty in you when others think of you as ugly,That’s a sign.

3.When he is willing to wait
He may be one guy who loves $ex and loves making out with whoever he dates but when he decides to wait till he is committed “married” before he dig it down with you then it means he thinks of you as special. He loves you..

4.When he introduces you to his friends and family
When a guy loves you,he wont hesitate to do the needful because He feels lucky having you and he is scared of loosing you to another guy.

5.He always want to be seen in public with you by his side
When he takes you out to every occasion he attends,it doesn’t mean he is selfish/overprotective of you.it means he feels confident about you and he loves you.He doesn’t see the relationship as just a joke and he is ready to invest his time and his resource to build up lovely memories.

6.When he sees you and smile even though he is upset
When your guy seem to be upset with everything and everybody around him but immediately you show up he smiles like……..That is a sign that you mean a lot to him.

7.When he respect your privacy and is concerned about your success
when he respect the fact that you need to work or study and in most cases he’s willing to burn the night with you just to make sure you achieve your goal successfully. Then he loves you

8.When he tell you crazy things and does crazy things
When he tells you how many times he purged that morning after eating something funny, how had to sneak into the kitchen to taste what you were cooking when you were not looking, when he still kisses from you wen you are not looking….That means he sees you as a friend, confidant and as his love.

Please feel free to add yours,I dedicate this topic to the broken hearten ladies.May you find love

6 Things Your Partner Wishes You Would Do More

6 Things Your Partner Wishes You Would Do More

Just like women, there are also a few things men need from their partner in a relationship, to make them feel appreciated and loved.

Some are listed below;

1. Respect him: A man is more likely to be satisfied in his relationship if he feels like he is respected by his woman. He wants to believe she considers him someone of honour and someone she is proud to call hers. Remind him that you respect him and show him that, through your attitude towards him.

2. Admire him: While women want to be reminded that they are beautiful, a man wants to feel admired by his partner. This is one of the reasons why a man would find himself being attracted to his subordinate as opposed to his superior. He wants someone who sees him as a man to be admired and be in awe of.

3. Give him space: Men and women process situations differently. While a woman is more likely to share her feelings to feel relief, most men would usually need some space to sort through their issues. When this happens, a man would need his partner to understand and give him his needed space without her making him feel bad about it.

4. Care for him: Men love to be cared for. They like to be nurtured through different ways. What this entails depends on the kind of relationship you share; it could be through cooking for him, massaging him, or doing all the other things he likes.

5. Be on his side: A man likes to feel like his partner is on his side, even during times she disagrees with him. He needs someone who os willing to take his side against any others and willing to understand his perspectives. He needs a relationship where he feels like his partner is his team-mate and not his opponent.

6. Support his decisions: Not only should a woman be on her man’s side, she should also be able to support the decisions he makes regarding the relationship and other aspect of his and his partner’s lives. She should be able understand the reasons behind decisions he makes and find ways to assist him in making his plans come to fruition.

9 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO DURING SEX

9 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO DURING SEX

So many things happen when you are in bed with your lover. However, you must follow some simple guidelines…

These guidelines are meant to be strictly adhered to because a few blunders can totally spoil the tone of the moment.

1. Not kissing

So many people do not see any necessity in kissing their partners during sex. Some base this on the excuse that the positioning doesn’t allow for it or they are too eager to climax and feel that it might break the rhythm. However, whatever the case may be, it is highly recommended that you make an effort to kiss your partner during the act – it will only add to the experience.

2. Biting before your partner’s ready

Although some people like aggressive partners, biting any part of their body before they are aroused may lead to pain and discomfort (and might even lessen the chances of any further action ) or simply scare them off. You might have to check that your partner enjoys it before you bite their ear, shoulders, neck or any other part of their body.

3. Ignoring everything but sexualised parts

When you leave out some parts of your partner untouched, it sends out so many signals. You need to gently caress sexualized areas as this will help in exciting your partner further; in turn, increasing the chances of them pleasuring you back.

4. Putting your weight on your partner

Quite a lot of people lose themselves in the moment. Yes, it is okay but there has to be caution. You must endeavor not to choke your partner up just because you are on top of them. Do not totally forget you are right on someone by dropping your weight on them. This can kill the moment.

5. Staying quiet

Do you like to hear it when your partner is having a good time? So pay them the same respect and speak up when you’re enjoying yourself. Something as simple as a little moan, or even saying something like, “that feels so good,” will encourage them and educate them further on your moan zones.

5 Types Of Toxic People You Should Avoid At All Costs

5 Types Of Toxic People You Should Avoid At All Costs

Be careful! Toxic people have a negative impact on your forward momentum. These individuals are completely exhausting, and bring unnecessary obstacles into your life. You might meet these energy vampires at work, among friends or you might even live with someone toxic. The sooner you remove them from your life, the better. Check out the five main types of toxic people.

1. Those who are judgmental

When judgmental people come in contact, they always criticize everything. If you try to explain something to them in great detail, it goes in one ear and out the other. Judgmental people can’t give you advice or feedback, they don’t listen well and are horrible at communicating.

2. Those who are envious

Your life can be a very bumpy journey filled with highs and lows. It’s very important to have a strong group of supporters in your corner during the low times and when you hit the high points. Envious people will not be happy for you. They think it’s only them who should get all the good things.

3. Those who are control freaks

Control freaks are narrow-minded and stubborn – they don’t ever want to listen. According to them, they know everything and they know the best way to do everything. They are a complete nightmare to deal with in a business environment and private life. If you have control freaks in your surroundings, it can cause a “too many cooks in the kitchen” problem.

4. Those who are permanent victims

The constant victims will always make excuses and blame others for their mistakes and wrongdoings. They will never accept responsibility! Flush them out of your life and eliminate that headache.

5. Those who are liars

To be successful you have to surround yourself with reliable individuals. That certainly doesn’t mean liars, because you can’t trust them. You never know if they are lying or telling the truth. Delete them from your life immediately!

Stay away from the energy vampires!

Guys: How to Get Over Being Dumped By Girlfriend

How to Get Over Being Dumped By Girlfriend

Did you just get a breakup? Are you feeling worthless right now? Are you dealing with a great amount of trauma because your ex girlfriend dumped you?
If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then, you stumbled upon this post. You are going to experience a great relief right now.

Why are you feeling ‘being dumped’?

From my experience of consulting hundreds of guys, I can say one thing for sure that is, a girl normally dumps a guy when there is potential partner for her.
Another interesting thing is, a guy normally don’t feel ‘being dumped’ as long as his ex left him for another guy.

So, why do most guys feel being dumped after a breakup?

It is because they think that they are being replaced by ANOTHER GUY.
For this reason they consider themselves worthless. They think that if they were up to standard, then they were not rejected.

So what about you?

Are you feeling being dumped because you loved your ex -girlfriend so much or because your ex – girlfriend dumped you for another guy? If so, then keep reading.

1) Welcome to the real world

If your ex girlfriend left the relationship with you because of another guy, then it doesn’t mean that you are not as good as her new boyfriend.
It only means that the love-criteria of your ex girlfriend has changed. It has nothing to do with you.
Everyone has developed his or her love-criteria throughout their life experience. When someone matches a good amount of those criteria, the other person falls in love with them.
When your ex girlfriend fell in love with you, you were matching most of her love-criteria. Since the relationship begun, you both have changed. Therefore, it may be possible that the love-criteria of your ex girlfriend have changed.
In this case, she doesn’t feel that much for you. That’s it.
And it doesn’t mean that you are a bad person.
The second thing you should understand is that it may be possible that her new boyfriend is matching most of her new love-criteria. That’s why she has engaged with that new guy.
This also doesn’t mean that the new guy is better than you. It only means that he is matching a few more things of her newly developed love-criteria.
This is the real thing why she dumped you.
Accept this and forget your own flaws. It’s not wise connecting your flaws with any type of rejection from a girl who doesn’t appreciate you.

2) Avoid virtual world for a while

It is very common for an ex to post cheerful images with her new partner on Facebook.
She does this just to make you feel bad about the breakup. The more you see her Facebook updates, the more ‘being dumped’ you feel.
The solution to this problem is simple. You just need to avoid Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites for a while.
Or at least you should unlink your profile from your exes.

3) Avoid her for a while

After being dumped from an ex girlfriend, most guys feel terrible. They don’t want to face their exes. They try to avoid their exes.
This is what you need to do, too. You should avoid your ex girlfriend. By doing this you will not only avoid awkwardness but also prevent yourself thinking about a reunion.

4) Nurture yourself

As you lost your ex girlfriend, you have lost a good source of nurturing. That’s why you need to nurture yourself. Take some time to praise yourself for your good qualities. Write down your feelings and convince yourself that you are feeling down not because you are worthless but because your loved someone deeply.
Spend some time to rejoice the beauty of nature. Make tea or coffee and enjoy it with your favorite music.
Nurturing yourself is an important step. Don’t take it lightly.

Do all of these and you will soon get over being dumped by your ex girlfriend.

5 Signs To Know Your Girlfriend Is Not Loyal In A Relationship

5 Signs To Know Your Girlfriend Is Not Loyal In A Relationship

It shouldn’t be an issue to debate on that ‘love’ and ‘loyalty’ are two different phenomenons entirely, yet, they go hand-in-hand with each other. Getting loyalty from the ‘modern’ Nigerian city girls sometimes, could be like the proverbial camel pa$$ing through the eyes of the needle, as projected by Christ in the Holy Bible!!! ..and especially, when your funds are low!

The average Nigerian girl that lives in the city might be a pain in the a$$ for you if you take her issues so seriously; carrying it on your head as if it was your destiny…especially, the flashy and trendy ones whose only dream in life is to surround themselves with as much material things as they can get . This situation might even prove worse when you are not aware of the ingredients that can bring about this loyalty. It is true that no one can be absolutely loyal, as other factors sometimes play their roles but disloyalty can be curtailed seriously when in relationship

1. She disappears during festive periods: If you are dating a Nigerian babe and she is fond of disappearing during festive times such as Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Eide-Kabir, etc, just know she is the disloyal type. She fake herself to be so busy during these times and absolutely make herself unavailable to you! She’s probably in the warm hands of another man who she feels can cater for her expensive taste and needs during the celebration season!!! Young man, you have no business with such a lady! I thought festive seasons were meant to be enjoyed together with friends and loved ones o:

2. She uses baseless excuses to explain her unavailability: Disloyal ladies hardly spend quality time with you except they stand to gain one material benefit or the other from you! To you, you are in a relationship. To them, it is ‘business’ as usual! . They always put the blame on rain, too much sunshine, breeze, traffic, friend’s wedding, etc, to avoid meeting with you but just tell her to come and collect a large sum of money you promised her and she will happily take the next available cab even if the whole rain in China, Vietnam and Cambodia combined is nothing compared to the rain pouring in the area where she resides!!! . Observe watchfully, bro!

3. She is so familiar with the joints you have taken her to and the regular male visitors there: She would know the prices of the range of drinks they have and the amounts they sell the ranges of foods they have in these places!!! She attracts ‘funny’ eye contacts and body languages from male folks around often and she sometimes wave at them when you act as if you are not looking! . How did she come to know about these places and what they offer if she hasn’t been taken to these places by different men on several occa$$ions?

4. Her phone hardly rings in your presence: Yes! Funny as it sounds, it is true. It is a tactful act that you should be a aware of…’your’ girl (everybody’s friend) could be the disloyal type. If she switches off her phone, you might suspect so she might put an old sim card that no one calls to disguise as a ‘good girl’ in your presence. This is an expo…if you notice something like this too often when she visits, try to call her number on your phone and see if it goes. If it doesn’t, don’t try to bother her on why she is using another sim she didn’t tell you about!!! Just know she is the disloyal type! You have an option…you can get up and dust your a$$ to save yourself further stress!!!

5. She spends your money but you can never see her penny: If she is the type that keeps her 20k to feast on your little 5k, just see her as disloyal! I wonder how some young men spend hugely on ladies who have never bought them a boxers or singlet before! Relationship is give and take. If she gives you s*x and nothing more for the financial benefits she gets from you, then she’s a pros!!! If not, what’s the transaction between a guy and a pros? Money for hand=back for ground . After all, who yansh dor help abeg!

Shine your eyes and be a Realist!!!

In the name of success, all women are bound to be loyal and confess that you are the man!!!

How To Let Your Man Fulfill Your Romantic Desire

How To Let Your Man Fulfill Your Romantic Desire

Many women today complain of lack of enough romance from their men and that they are too monotonous in the way men carried out their romantic display with their wives. But when you ask any man his idea about how romantic he’s to his partner, men will list out several romantic gestures, and ideas that they have carried out with their partner.

When you take a look into all of these list men put forward, you discover that they are not bad ideas at all, they are all romantic but the women are complaining.

What is happening here? Something must have gone amiss, but the reality is that, you can let your man fulfill your romantic desire by showing him what it meant to be romantic in your own way. You should also remember that the word romance has different definition from different people, your man’s own definition may be slightly different from yours but all the same, you can harmonize everything together.

So, how do you let your man fulfill your romantic desire?

The points I want to make here is to guide you on how to meet your romantic craving, but you need to know that you can’t force romance in your own way into him but patiently wait for it grow to your own level when you’ve play your part well in it.

Communicate your desire with him; tell him how you want it, sometimes men a clueless about how to give woman their desire romance and it is at this point you need to come in and show him how you enjoy seeing him doing it in a certain ways.

Some men may not be comfortable with public display of affection where you want him to peck you in public, I have seen men that feel embarrassed when their women show some public display of affection in front of their friends. You may not like it but at the same time you need to explain to him that you really want to feel love at every time. Even though he may not too like public display but he must understand that you’re not making show for people to see.

Leave him some romantic note in his pocket or his office bag so that he can sees it every time he goes out and everywhere. You can write some romantic note or words like;

Touch me because you love me but not because you want to make love with me.
Touch the back of my arm and my neck. Hold me and place your palm against my upper back. Kiss my cheek, my forehead, the back of my neck.
Move closer to me and kiss me on my lips in front of family and friends and say thanks for being my love Be with me, talk with me, walk with me, and ride the tandem with me.
Tell me how beautiful I am in the morning when I first wake up with my hair ruffle, tell me of my beauty when I put on my makeup, dress up. Say to me I love you and always I will forever thankful for being the love of my life.
Say you love me in the morning, afternoon and evening and make it even the last statement at night before you sleep. Don’t let me ask before you rub my neck, shoulder and my back.
Excite me. Encourage me to face my fears. Rekindle my sense of adventure. Help me to loosen up. Push me beyond my limits. Make me ride a roller coaster with you.
Blindfold me and feed me. Bring me on adventures. Take me to new places. Enjoy new cuisines with me. Explore the world with me. Listen to me, look into my eyes and say I love you dear.

To be honest with you, no man will see all of these every day and still not fulfill your romantic desire. They are all call to action and reminder that will drive your romance to the rooftop.

3 Reasons Why You Must Never Breastfeed In Public (A Must Read For All Mothers)

3 Reasons Why You Should Never Breastfeed In Public

It is not a strange scene to see women trying to breastfeed their babies in church, shopping malls and other public places.

However, there has been an argument among women as to why women have to get to the public and decide to breastfeed their children. While it is practical to say that babies can cry at any time with the intention to eat, some women are have raised the bar of argument by saying mums should never do such when they are in public places.

However everything boils down to comportment. No woman will should deliberately decide to bring out her boobs in public, where other men, even if her husband is among the men. Here are 3 reasons why you should not!

1. It is totally inappropriate rude, and offensive

It does not look so appropriate to have your breast all out in the public all in the name of trying to breastfeed. Aside from breastfeeding, the breasts have just one other purpose. If you must do it while outside your home, a secluded place, where you are sure no one can see you, is suitable. Don’t use your breastfeeding to embarrass ‘unfortunate’ men in public who didn’t see it coming.

2. Breastfeeding in public can send the wrong message to a man

This is like a continuation of the first point. There are men who get turned on just at the sight of boobs…. Now, seeing this in public can cause them a great harm than good. You will not want your man (or any other man) looking all ‘up’ just because you decided to breastfeed in the public glare. Do the men around you a great favor, either cover up when breastfeeding outside or don’t do it at all if it’s not so important.

3. It shows a reduction of your self-worth as a woman

It has been observed that when women get married in this part of the world, they tend to forget about looking good. They lose their guards, some even go all the way to ‘throw away’ themselves especially when they are pregnant. This leads us to women with two or more children who do not care anymore about their bodies. Only a woman who does not have a quantifiable self worth will decide to publicly breastfeed her baby without trying to cover up.

Things You Can Do To Make Money On Campus (Must Read)

Things You Can Do To Make Money On Campus

WHY DO YOU NEED THESE TIPS ?

As a student, you tend to face so many challenges, ranging from tution fee, hostel fee and other fee.
Let me not even speak about those ones now, because you tend you pay for those ones once in a year But Do you Know that the money you use in Feeding and buying Materials Is even more greater then the amount you spend for school fees and other fees and obviously, they are the ones that tend to consume more cash.

What are these other challenges?
-Feeding
-Photocopying
-Departmental dues
-Hostel Dues
-Faculty dues…. Etc

1. Photography: The Photography business has grown from its state in the days to a renowned profession which people are making a fortune out of. Starting this business in small scale means you're not just making money at the moment but securing a strong financial future for yourself. You know how students especially the female folks love taking pictures, this is the perfect time to make maximum use of this opportunity. you don’t need much to start, just save a little money for a good camera, with a bit of creativity and you’re good to go.

Please note that doing photography professionally requires just more than the previous requirements mentioned but this should be enough to get you started. you can also take pa$$port photographs during school registrations.

2. Sale of Fashion Items: Interesting thing about this business is that you’d succeed no matter your gender. Both male and female wears rocks on Nigerian campuses and who else will succeed more if not their fellow students.

I know of a guy who is living comfortably and paying school fees only by selling men under-wears, yes, Just men under wears, most of the times he travels out to the region where these boxer shorts are at a very low prize, buys them and bring them to his school.

He sells these boxer shorts for virtually everybody in his region ranging from his lecturers down to his fellow students. I don’t want to go into details on how much these things cost, but its best you do your home work.

3. T-Shirt Customization: This business requires your creativity as a student. looking around you, you’ll notice students love fancy and funky stuffs. learning the art of this business means you’ll have fellow students begging you to collect their money for a t-shirt write up.

You can learn this simple business during your stay at home/holiday. You can start in small scale by doing the write ups on your own T-shirt, friends will like it and ask you to even do for them. Just start something. Remember the “My Oga at the Top Saga”? you see those custom t-shirts? Need i say more?

4. Online Registration: Yes, if you have a laptop and a bit of computer knowledge, i don’t know what stops you from enjoying both the pleasure and money derived from this Job. you can register virtually everything online.

Course Registration, Post-UTME Registration, JAMB Registration, Job Application, etc. You can even make extra cash from typing a$$ignments and projects for fellow students. Do i also need to tell you the thousands of Naira made during post UTME registrations? All the tools you need to make good money are all around you, you Just need to identify one and work your way through it.

5. Website Design/Hosting: I’ll be a bit biased on this one because that’s what i do currently and don’t know if its suitable for students or not. But i can authoritatively tell you students are taping into the hidden money from this lucrative business.

It may take a while to learn the entire concept of how this things work but its something you can easily do while you are home for holidays. Website Design may sound a bit complex so you might want to manage the little you get from setting up blogs for fellow students.

This write up may not make sense to you because you don’t know a thing about website design, its why i’ll advice you to learn under anybody who is established in it already.
Look around your campus, there are students who do well comfortably with this business, it wouldn’t hurt much to meet them to put you through.

Below are the other tips which have been tested and confirmed.

–Starting up Tutorials : If are capable of teaching, you can earn teaching you cla$$mates and those below you in cla$$.

–Photocopying.

–Blogging

-Laundry

-Helping with respect to online a$$ignments: I know of people that make huge from this.

–Bulk Sms : You have various Fellowships in yur school.Don’t you know you can make money selling units to them ?-Opening a café |(This involves much capital though)

–Selling Textbooks to people.

–Opening up a canteen and employing people to work there for you

–Going into Political stuffs (These one is making sense sha, eg, hall governor, sug excos, etc)

5 Incredible Examples of Human Bodies That Challenge The Law Of Time

5 Incredible Examples of Human Bodies That Challenge The Law Of Time

Nothing is eternal, they say. We got completely used to realizing, that all we see around us will, eventually, turn to dust. Every rule, though, has its exception. The following are 5 examples of human bodies, that refused to decompose:

1. Saint Catherine Laboure

A member of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, Saint Catherine Laboure stated that she had several times been visited by the Virgin Mary. In her later years, the visionary fully dedicated herself to caring about the aged and infirm. Catherine passed away in 1876 at the age of seventy and received a burial ceremony. Her body was exhumed in 1993, when Catherine was canonized, and it is now displayed in Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Paris, France.

2. Lady Xin Zhui

Xin Zhui was the wife of a Chinese nobleman in the period of the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). She lived an extremely extravagant lifestyle, enjoying silk clothes, the variety of imperial foods and own musicians. Her tomb was accidentally discovered in 1971 and has since been considered one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

3. Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov

Itigilov was a highly respectable Buddhist lama in Russia in the early 1900s. It is said that Dashi-Dorzho perished in deep meditation, fully aware of his approaching death. His body was unearthed as per his testament after several decades and is still kept on display in Ivolginsky datsan, Russia.

4. Saint Benita Zita

Since her childhood she worked as a servant in Fatinelli household and was known to be very kind and helpful to the poor. Zita died in 1272, and was canonized 300 years later. Nowadays, believers celebrate her feast day and many chapels exist throughtout Europe, commemorating the Italian saint. Her mummified body is currently on display in the Basilica di San Frediano in Lucca.

5. La Doncella

The life of this Incan teenager was sacrificed during a religious ritual near present-day Argentina nearly 500 years ago. La Doncella was an aclla, or Sun Virgin, chosen and sanctified as a toddler to live with other children, who would later become royal wives, priestesses, and sacrifices. Ritual sacrifices in the Inca society were performed to ensure health, rich harvests and preferable weather. Due to cold conditions and dry air, she was preserved well being found in 1999. La Doncella is considered to be the best preserved Inca mummy ever found.

Benefits of Staying Up Late

Reasons staying up late at night can be good for you

While it can be very unnatural for some people, staying awake at night is alright for you at times. Just like some people are morning birds, some are night owls.

Don’t feel like you are missing out on what happens during the day when you can experience all of the great effects of staying up at night. Here are five reasons why staying awake at night isn’t so bad.

1. The Best Ideas Occur at Night
Sometimes, the best ideas and innovations arrive at night. I have many experiences with this. During the day, when I had to write an essay, especially for school, I noticed that my mind wouldn’t work. I kept getting writer’s block until the night came around. During the night, I had a totally different experience. I could do whatever I wanted to do. I would have wonderful ideas come to mind. Sometimes the best ideas occur at night.

2. Time Alone Without Noise Or Talking
Late night happens to be a time when most people are asleep unless they work the night shift. I happen to think this is the most peaceful time of all. I get time to read, eat, and pray without any kind of distractions or constant talking or yelling. It helps me be at peace with myself and surroundings.

This can be difficult throughout the day when everyone is busy with working and getting things done. Late night works for me. I get time to quietly unwind at the end of a long day and gather my thoughts effectively. That is why I think staying up late is not a bad thing at all. The fact of the matter is how you end up using the time. I know that I use it wisely. I know you too can use your time wisely at night.

3. Accomplishing More Is Easier Without Background Noise
Because you are the only one awake, you can focus on whatever it is you are doing. When I was in college and in high school, I used to stay up late studying and doing a$$ignments. It was easier than working throughout the day because there were all types of conversation going on around me. It just made things easier for me to focus without all of the background noise that happens during the day.

By working at night, I was able to not only accomplish more, but remember things I couldn’t have done if I had studied at another time. So, I greatly benefited from it. It just be thing that you are looking for. Just try and time will only tell.

4. Enjoying Time For Yourself
The time at night is something that enables you to enjoy yourself. You can simply turn on the television without anyone telling you that they do not want to watch a certain channel that you would like to. Now, it is simply the television and you. Turn on your favorite episode of “Modern Family,” “Big Bang Theory,” “Mom,” or watch movies and documentaries from Netflix. If that is not on your bucket list, you can go ahead, check the DVR, and see if you have any interesting things to watch there. The list is pretty much endless.

However, if you would like to do something else besides watching television, you can take out a photo album, and look at your favorite memories. I know I do that when I feel lonely. I feel much better after having looked at my childhood pictures. Maybe, this can help you too.

Remember, the point is to enjoy yourself. It is okay to stay up late. But, if you get tired, go to sleep. There is nothing wrong with you except that you are tired. If you aren’t then that is fine also. It depends on your needs. We are all different. No need to be someone you are not.

Taboo! 5 Words You Must Never Say In Lagos

Five Words That Can Stir Great Controversy In Lagos

Lagos can be a very mercurial place, and one has to be very careful with what he or she says or does, because you cannot always be sure of the outcome of your actions and reactions.

In Lagos, you will be shocked as to how very little can turn into so much, even certain jokes have led to the most tragic ends.

Words they say can be very powerful and in most cases mean more than what was intended to be said, that is very true with respect to Lagos, so one must watch his or her words as they converse and interact on Eko’s busy streets.

Here are five words that cannot be used just anyway in Lagos, infact, the words should be avoided as much as possible, because the mention of these words can eventually lead to some big trouble.

1. OLE!

No its not a name, or a title for an album, neither is it a shout of approval, triumph or encouragement; it is actually a derogatory Yoruba term which means “Thief”. So when you go screaming Ole! Ole! then you can be sure that you’ll cause a lot of panic.

So don’t be surprised if at your chant, some people are sent scampering away seeking safe harbor, while some others dauntlessly race towards you in a bid to apprehend your supposed assailant. You might want to quickly flee from the scene, as jungle justice is not a strange practice, even in Nigeria’s most civilised city.

2. Igbo

It sounds slightly different, but is spelt like the name of an ethnic group in the southeastern part of Nigeria, but don’t be fooled, ‘igbo’ means ‘marijuana’. You must be very careful with the usage of this word, else you might serve time in jail.

The use of Indian hemp or Igbo as it is christened is illegal in Lagos, and the police, NAFDAC and other agencies would be ready to take you in for questioning, once the word falls off your lips.

3. Ashewo

This word really gets on the nerves of ladies, some girls would kill when this term is directed to them. This is because, ‘Ashewo’ means ‘prostitute’. As slighting as this word is, many Lagiosian mostly people of the mass class, still use ‘Ashewo’ anyhow they wish; and you will be shocked as to the magnitude of rifts and chaos this simple word can bring.

4. Police

Popularly called olopa or askari in Lagos, the term police comes with various notions and thoughts. For many though, it stirs trouble, and that is not necessarily because you are a law offender.

Known for certain vices, the police in Lagos has a reputation that needs to be put in the right perspective. With bribery topping the list of vices, the word police in Eko, has become synonymous with the corrupt practice. Such that the mention of police becomes obnoxious to many Lagosians.

5. Agbero

Agbero refers to the hooligans and touts that fill the bus parks and bus-stops in Lagos. Though their exploits are often over blown, still the word agbero should cause one to rethink.

Very erratic in nature, the Lagos touts have a peculiar way of operating. From plaguing bus drivers and conductors to snatching bags and stealing jewelries, the word ‘agbero’ definitely doesn’t mean well, little wonder people feel very uncomfortable when the term is mentioned.

In Lagos, the words highlighted above can really cause a scene and if not handled appropriately may escalate in serious fracas.

Are there some other words or terms used in Lagos, that are capable of stirring rifts? Do let us know by leaving your comments in the section availed.

I dare say it is very essential that regardless of the fact that you are a resident or visitor in Lagos, you need to mind your language in your daily interactions. For visitors, endeavour to get the true meaning of terms you are learning before that word puts you in grave danger.

5 Reasons Why People Who Cry A Lot Are Mentally Strong

5 Reasons Why People Who Cry A Lot Are Mentally Strong

Unfortunately, not all emotions are created equal.

The most widely accepted emotion, happiness, is a sign of confidence, security, and success, among other things. Even if we have to “fake it till we make it”, we’ve been told expressing happiness is a sure way of gaining close friends and admirers.

Fear is perhaps the most applicable emotion, as everyone has felt it in some regard. We’ve all been scared of something before: leaving a job, asking someone to marry us, confronting a friend about something they did to upset you. And considering the daily fear mongering by ma$$ media outlets, fear makes a strong case for the most felt emotional sensation.

Anger, though rarely welcomed, is another emotion many of us feel and practice daily. Be it in the midst of heavy traffic, at your child for breaking a prized vase, or at an incompetent coworker, anger is, again, widely accepted as a completely normal emotion.

Disgust is highly suggestive and, for the most part, remains internalized but is still regularly felt. When disgust is expressed, in most contexts, it’s usually accepted and sometimes agreeable.

Sadness, however, is in a league of it’s own, much like in the new feature Pixar film Inside Out. Sadness seems to be alienated, picked on, and persecuted when expressed fully. Outward expressions of sadness such as droopiness of the body and face, slumping, and crying are considered signs of weakness and insecurity. It’s unfair that our culture puts sadness in such a tight box. It’s damaging, unhealthy, and downright unfair to the human life experience.

People who aren’t afraid to express sadness, in fact, are far more mentally healthy than those who suppress it. Here’s why:

They aren’t afraid of their emotions.
If you were overwhelmed with joy, would you hide a smile? If you saw the innards of a squished squirrel while running or biking on the side of the road, would you not grimace? If you had an awful day at work and your unemployed roommate drank your last ice cold beer that you’d been looking forward to all day, would you not be pissed off? If you were trying to find a light switch and didn’t think that your boyfriend was in the room, lurking, waiting to scare you thinking it would be funny, would you not be terrified when he jumped towards you and yelled?

So if you’re sad, why wouldn’t you cry? Why wouldn’t you slump around? Why wouldn’t you give yourself the right to be sad?

People who ignore sadness cheat themselves out of an important facet of life. Sadness, or crying, isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign that you’re a human and have feelings beyond what you’re told is appropriate to show in public.

They understand the healing properties of tears.
Much like a spit valve releases saliva from a trumpet, your tear ducts releases stress, anxiety, grief, and frustration from your brain and body. It’s soul cleansing, mind enriching, and goosebump inducing, almost acting as a drain for the buildup of negative emotions that result from stress. The healing properties of tears aren’t just restricted to sad tears, either, but happy tears as well. In either case you’re dealing with extreme emotion. Allowing that extreme emotion to back up and stay in the body can be very dangerous both physically and mentally.

Beyond improving move and reliving stress, crying, specifically tears, have scientific benefit because they release toxins, help improve vision, and can kill 90 to 95 percent of all bacteria in just five to 10 minutes.

They know how ther*peutic crying can be.
Recent psychological studies have determined that crying stimulates our brain’s endorphin release, the “feel-good” hormones that also act as a natural pain killer. Crying also lowers manganese levels, a chemical that, when overexposed to, can exasperate the brain and body.

Even though the problem may still persist after you’ve cried it out, there’s no doubt that the act of crying allows for an overall release of bad emotion even if momentarily. This allows us to think clearer about the problem and not be so overwhelmed by it.

They don’t care about gender roles or societal expectation.
Crying is stigmatized for both $exes. If she cries it’s because she’s unstable or a wreck or, the most delusional conclusion, needs attention from others. If he cries, he’s a pansy, a wuss, or, my personal favorite, not manly enough. All of these generalizations encourage both $exes to submerge their sadness to the depths of their soul.

Though it’s an uphill battle that can only be won an inch at a time, we’re working tirelessly to break down social constraints that hang heavy over both $exes. Those who allow themselves to be sad in public are not only brave, but also activists for an emotionally healthier society.

They invite others to not run from their feelings.
I like to cry. Or rather, I don’t let myself not be sad when I feel sadness. We are all working to overcome some sort of depressing demon that’s trying to tear us down. When we allow ourselves to feel pain when we feel it, we’re also encouraging others, either people we already know or not, to connect with our pain. To know that you’re not alone in thinking, feeling, or even acting a certain way is emotionally liberating and, in extreme cases, life saving.

Those who accept sadness when it stares them in the face allow others to do the same. Recalling the previous point, it’s dangerous when we keep emotions hidden and buried within. Since sadness has negative a$$ociations, we often won’t reach out to someone we notice is experiencing difficulty because we’re afraid, not of the person necessarily but of the act of being deeply upset.

When we’re honest to our bodies, we allow it to perpetually run at maximum capacity, even when we’re experiencing tremendous pain.

We’ve been seriously discussing good mental health practices for years now. With the dawn of therapy and heavily prescribed feel-good medications, we should all be more appreciative of our biological ability to cry and take full advantage of the natural anxiety-reliever it is.

Because crying shouldn’t be perceived as a sign of weakness, but a sign of internal strength and mindfulness.

9 Things Only People Who Live Far Away From Their Family Would Understand

9 Things Only People Who Live Far Away From Their Family Would Understand

There are many things in life that could separate you from your family. Sometimes it’s a career, school, or the mere desire to travel. When you’re far away from home, your perspective on the world changes drastically. You will certainly feel some loneliness, and there will be times when you will need to re-examine the true meaning of the term “family”. Yet wherever you go, take comfort in the knowledge that a part your family’s spirit will always be inside of you. Such comforts help you truly understand certain things about your family, even when you live far away from them.

1. You start thinking independently
A family is like a pillar: They provide the emotional and spiritual support that you need to become a better person. But when you take away that support network, you start seeing things from an independent perspective and begin tending to your affairs by yourself.

2. You become left out of family affairs
Whether it was your sibling getting married or your parents’ anniversary, you lose track of important events within your family. Perhaps you can catch up with your mother on her sixtieth birthday on Facebook or Twitter. However, you still miss the joy of being with your family when they attend a major event.

3. You use your vacation time to go visit them
While others consider a vacation as spending time away from their family, you treat vacation as spending time with your family. And yet, your vacations always feel a little incomplete, because there never seems to be enough time to spend with your family and enjoy it for yourself as well.

4. You can typically adapt even when your family is not close by
You start adapting and making yourself comfortable in new environments. You see yourself as citizen of the world and feel you can survive anywhere without your family. You are independent, bold, and strong wherever you are.

5. You sometimes get homesick
Everyone has their own definition of what homesickness means. However, where your family lives could still be where you consider home. You miss the food, the laughter, and the ambiance, and you really want to be with your loved ones again. Sometimes you really have to make the sacrifice of restraining that feeling for a while.

6. You understand and appreciate the meaning of the term “family”
You understand what family means. You miss the support and affection that comforted you when you were with them. You treasure the memories and pleasant moments that you experienced with them. When you meet people that reflect the personalities of your family, you appreciate those people more.

7. You doubt your choices sometimes
You analyze your life and wonder if you actually made the right decision to move so far away from your family. You start to see this as a new phase of your life, and realize you need become adjusted to being on your own and taking on challenges without your family around.

8. You start understanding the difference between people and places
You realize that family is about the people, not the place. You try to stay in touch and communicate with them as much as you can. The truth is that the place will never matter as much as being with your family or reaching out to them every now and then.

9. You have an evolving relationship with your family
If you were with your family all of the time, your relationship with them would never grow. Somehow when you separate yourself from the other members of your family, your relationship with them evolves and take on a new shape. Sometimes your parents will treat you like a close friend or a sibling rather than the child you were.

10 Signs Your Partner is About To Break Up with You

10 Signs Your Partner is About To Break Up with You

It’s happened to us all before – the breakup that came out of absolutely nowhere! But…did it really, though? Did you see the signs but couldn’t actually fathom the idea of someone not wanting to be with you anymore? (You’re so awesome! How?!)

This time, it can be different. You can take a step back and look at your relationship with a more critical eye and prep yourself for the inevitable. The end of a relationship is like the end of an era, no doubt. It’s heartbreaking and difficult to accept. And to be honest, getting dumped just plain sucks! No one wants to be the one who gets the boot. Just ask Scott Disick, America’s least empathetic dumpee. Being tossed to the curb can be hard on the heart – and on the ego. But the sooner you can spot a relationship headed for splitsville, the sooner you can begin moving on with your life and finding someone who does want to go the distance with you.

Sure, all relationships hit some lows. But when are those lows becoming too frequent and going on for far too long? Don’t let a breakup surprise you like a Shonda Rhimes plot twist. Learn how to spot the signs that the love of your life may have fallen out of love with you before you invest more of yourself into a doomed relationship. Who knows, if you can spot it soon enough, maybe you’ll be the one saying, “Bye, Felicia!” instead.

10. Hot $ex is a Thing of the Past

When someone is having second thoughts about whether or not a relationship is working for them, it’s not surprising that $ex may become a little less exciting or even disappear altogether. Yes, $ex can become less spicy or less frequent even in healthy relationships. But when your $ex life crosses over from hot and steamy to basically non-existent, there’s a good chance something’s wrong. If the quality of your $ex life takes a turn for the worst, it’s time to brace yourself for the possibility of a split.
$ex is a way happy couples connect with one another on both a physical and emotional level. If your partner no longer wants to do that, something could be amiss. If you can’t remember the last time you guys even had $ex – well, let’s just say you should start working on your Tinder profile. Just go download the app right now.

9. Moving to the Next Step Ain’t Happening

If you and your significant other have discussed the future but you don’t see any action, it could mean the end is near! (Luckily, not the end of the world, just this relationship!) You have to ask yourself why someone would be so reluctant to move forward if they are happy. The answer might be that they just aren’t happy anymore and are having some serious doubts about committing further. Whether you discussed moving in together or getting married, if those plans are put on the backburner for what seems like an eternity, your relationship may be headed down the path of no return.
Planning ahead is a sure fire sign your boo is on board for the long haul. If he or she just can’t envision themselves moving any further with you, you can’t be totally shocked when they finally call it quits. Do they brush you off when you bring it up? Or do they dodge the topic entirely? Yeah, the next step is coming, but it may not be exactly what you were hoping for.

8. Your Title is Abolished

If your sweets used to introduce you as their boyfriend or girlfriend and are now just introducing you by your first name, you may be dealing with more than just a rough patch. If your partner never introduced you in any other way, then it’s business as usual for you two.
But when you go from an obvious title to nothing at all, start sniffing around for more clues. What about pet names? Have those become ancient history, too? This is a sign your partner just isn’t feeling it anymore. He or she may not even be conscious of the fact that they’re doing it – which is probably an even bigger sign that things are over in their mind.

7. Intimacy Takes a Back Seat

Intimacy doesn’t only refer to $ex. It’s cuddling, holding hands, kissing each other goodnight and all that other sappy stuff everyone pretends is pathetic but really desperately wants more of. If you used to snuggle up together on the couch all the time but now can’t remember the last time your mate wanted to hold your hand, you could be on the verge of getting dumped.
Intimacy is a way couples share their love with one another. $ex isn’t all it takes to make the physical side of your relationship thrive. Some people may not be affectionate, which is perfectly fine. But if someone goes from bringing on the PDA to pushing away from your touch, it could be a sign of trouble. Any major change in behaviour should tip you off that the object of your affection is planning a big move – without you.

6. They Start Hanging Out With Their Single Peeps – A LOT!

When in a relationship, people may start spending less time with the one-night-stand friends and the strip club VIPs they once chilled with every weekend. If those single peeps – you know, the ones out cruising the bar scene every night – make an unusual appearance in your partner’s life again, there’s something to worry about. Especially if meeting up with said friends is becoming more and more frequent.
What do they have in common anyway? Most likely the possibility that your one and only may soon be re-joining the singles team – or is at least considering it. If outings with the boys – or the ladies – start becoming a thing and the crowd your partner is partying with are a little too raunc#y for your taste, it’s time to face the facts. You’re probably about to get dumped. Time to get your single posse back on speed dial and start rebuilding your life at the nearest bar.

5. They’re Suddenly AWOL on Social Media

Out of nowhere, your main squeeze decides social media just isn’t for them anymore. They suddenly don’t like the idea of being “watched” by Big Brother. Hmmm…odd, especially since it was never an issue before. But how does going Amish on social media have anything to do with your relationship? Well, it’s actually the perfect plan, you see!
Facebook and Instagram are basically online collages of you two sharing dessert, vacationing together, and watching the sunset. You even check in at each other’s apartments! If the fire in your relationship is gone and your partner is looking to move on, it would be pretty hard to do with pages and pages of evidence that he or she is still committed to someone else. With no traceable proof that you two are an item, your partner is putting themselves back up for grabs. If looking for a new flame isn’t a sign your relationship is dead, we don’t know what is.

4. Your Phone Ain’t Ringing

You can do all the test calls you want, we both know your phone isn’t broken! Your significant other just isn’t calling you back – which is a sure-fire sign they’re starting to write you out of the equation. Your voicemail used to have a ton of messages every day – it was borderline scary! And now you can’t get a returned call or text message without faking a medical emergency.
There’s definitely trouble in paradise when one person just can’t seem to make time for the other. We get it – he or she is just busy. But unless they’re out there deciding the fate of the free world or working as the PR reps for the Kardashian empire, they’re not busy enough to not make time for you! The question is: do they want to? Judging by your cell phone’s full battery despite not having been charged in two days, we’re going to have to say no, they don’t want to.

3. They Need a Minute – Or Like a Lot Longer

If your partner is asking for space in your relationship, it’s pretty clear they need some time to process how they really feel about things. They’re obviously having a moment and need to figure things out – without any interference from you and your relationship.
As time goes on, relationships can slowly become more distant. But a straight up demand for it – especially when it seems to come from absolutely nowhere – just isn’t a good sign when it comes to the future of your relationship. Even if it doesn’t mean the end for good, it does mean there is some serious doubt going on. That alone is enough to plant a wedge between the two of you and cause some damage you may not be able to repair.

2. Convos Are Turning Into Monologues

You guys used to talk about everything. With the cheeky banter going back and forth, you never had a quiet or dull moment. And now, you find yourself asking pointless questions just to get anything more than a one-word answer out of this person! You may even instigate an argument just to get some sort of reaction and still – nothing!
When your partner seems to shut down and doesn’t even care enough to argue with you anymore, it’s safe to say this isn’t exactly a match made in heaven. Your partner has lost interest in sharing anything with you and his or her mind literally goes blank when you strike up a convo. If you’re now the only one keeping the conversation going, you’ve officially entered into a relationship with yourself. On the plus side, at least you’re discussing with someone who is finally on your level!

1. You Just Know

Don’t underestimate the power of intuition. If you have that nasty feeling in the pit of your stomach and you just know your significant other isn’t in it anymore, they probably aren’t. You can try to come up with different ways of excusing their strange and suddenly distant behaviour, but eventually you’ll have to face facts.

If you’re not feeling the love anymore, it may be because the other person just isn’t giving you any. It doesn’t mean it’s anyone’s fault. Sometimes relationships just don’t work out without any particular reason. The sooner you can admit to yourself what’s really going on, the sooner you can get back into the swing of things and move on with someone who does want to pretend they hate PDA and loves shooting the sh*t with you.

HOW WATCHING PORNOGRAPHY AFFECTS YOUR BRAIN (MUST READ)

WHY YOU SHOULD STOP WATCHING PORNOGRAPHY

Watching a lot of pornography can have a negative effect on the human brain, a study by some Germans has shown.

The researchers found that watching too much pornography could re-wire the brain and alter its structure and functions. It could also shrink part of the brain and reduce the ability of watchers to be sexually stimulated.

According to the study, having sex and watching pornography cause dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for learning, reward, emotions and pleasure, to be released in the brain.

The researchers noted that the more porn a person watches, the more the dopamine that is released, which makes the brain to be desensitised to its effects, which could reduce their decision-making capabilities.

Young people who watch porn frequently were also found to have reduced likelihood or tendencies to venture into risk-taking ventures.

The leader of the researchers, Simone Kühn, from the Max Planck Institute in Berlin explained that it was the first evidence for a link between porn consumption and reductions in brain size and brain activity in response to sexual stimuli.

She noted that men who view too much porn may become lazier than others and that their research provided strong evidence that pornography might harm the brain in some ways and change its size.

Kühn however, said the study can’t prove porn-watching causes changes to the brain.

About 64 healthy German men, aged between 21 and 45, participated in the study.

Stating their findings Kühn said: “We found that the volume of the so-called striatum, a brain region that has been associated with reward processing and motivated behaviour, was smaller the more pornography consumption the participants reported.

“We also found that gray matter volume in the right caudate of the striatum was smaller among frequent porn viewers. Men who watched more porn also showed less activity in another area of the striatum, known as the left putamen, which lit up when exposed to sexual stimuli.

“These brain changes are similar to those seen in cocaine addicts, who develop abnormalities in areas, such as the nucleus accumbens and striatum, which are responsible for learning, memory, pleasure and reward.

“Moreover, we found that another brain region, which is also part of the striatum that is active when people see sexual stimuli, shows less activation the more pornography participants consumed.

“In essence, the connectivity between the brain’s striatum and prefrontal cortex worsened with increased consumption of pornography, suggesting poorer and impaired decision-making capability. Thus, frequent pornographic consumption would surely change how the brain works, and basically, everything that people do very frequently can shape their brain structure and function.”

In reaction, a neurologist, Dr. Emmanuel Olusola, said there were convincing evidences to show that pornography could have an effect on the brain.

Also commenting on the study, a psychologist, Prof. Oni Fagboungbe, agreed that watching pornography could affect the brain, and that it could change the conditioning of the brain.

How Poor Lecturers Ruin The Future Of Students In Nigeria (Must Read)

How Poor Lecturers Ruin The Future Of Students In Nigeria

I know quite a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students who are passing through the hell in the name of receiving education in Nigeria. A lot of lecturers in the Nigerian universities — notably the public ones — have turned themselves into the demigods oppressing the students, though they are rather supposed to inspire and empower young people within and outside the classroom. Anytime one listens to the students’ ordeals, they would always, instinctively, arrive at the following conclusion: the Nigerian system of education needs serious change. A particular story — which is of course very pathetic — is that of a friend of mine, who had an extra year during his undergraduate days because his results were missing (a case of a “missing script” as they popularly call it). Instead of taking responsibility for the recklessness and insensitivity, the school management made him pay dearly for an offence he didn’t commit in the first place.

Mean lecturers – why are they so dangerous?

As far as I know, there are lots of lecturers who purposely fail students. The main reason they do it is because they also failed the respective exams when they were undergraduates. So, to them, it would be gross injustice for any student to pass with flying colours. Is it not supposed to be the exact opposite? These lecturers are taking revenge on the innocent souls, who studied at the primary or secondary school or were even not born when they failed way back at school.

A teacher should inspire the students with their own stories and encourage them to learn from them. Thus, the students will have a chance to avoid a lot of mistakes and perform better. Instead, the students, who are supposed to be groomed to become academic giants capable to help to solve many of the nation’s problems with their knowledge, skills and experience, are being turned into underdogs with low self-esteem and abandoned life-long dreams. A number of students have become preys of these prowling sadists, and their efforts are consequently crowned with “extra” as the folks call the wasted years at school.

Implications for the nation’s development

In the long run, the universities churn out lots of frustrated graduates, who go on to struggle unceasingly — and usually with little returns — in the labour market. With meager income and no powerful contacts, they are forced to go back to their postgraduate studies. Many of them do not go back to the classroom because they want to expand their knowledge base and contribute more to solving the challenges facing the country — which in itself is the real essence of education. However, they have to do that thinking it could land them a job to at least make ends meet. So, they go on with their studies grudgingly! This is a vicious cycle that continues year in year out.

Taking into consideration the marginalization of the Nigerian youths by the political class and the government during the past decades, one can easily identify why many young people are frustrated and become ready to take up anything that will yield returns for them — terrorism, 419 scams, armed robbery, prostitution, to name a few.

How foreign lecturers treat their students

Just about two weeks ago, I was chatting with a friend of mine who had applied for a master’s degree in Saudi Arabia after graduating from a Nigerian university. We started talking about our undergraduate days, and he was quick to tell me that the lecturers over there so much respect their students that they are always eager to receive them, especially when the latter encounter challenges in their studies. To them, the comfort and success of their students is the ultimate. In return, the students are inspired – they do their best and think creatively.

He explained why the foreign lecturers behaved in this manner: they saw themselves as the role models for the future leaders who would solve the challenges facing the citizens and contribute to the national research base. In fact, they do not derive any pleasure from the students’ failures. The story is not different in the countries like the United States, United Kingdom, Russia and others. Why not in Nigeria?

Let there be change!
There obviously are the great teachers in the Nigerian universities — at least I have come across a handful of them — and there is actually a trend: the more genuine and inspiring a lecturer is, the better the quality of the graduates. The “engine room” of a nation’s development is education, and lecturers are at the heart of it. As a result, if they do not care whether their students will become giants or underdogs, then the future of Nigeria is in jeopardy.

As a matter of fact, I expect the vice chancellors, the federal and state governments, civil society organisations and all Nigerians to beam more light on these mean lecturers so that their excesses can be checked. They have done more harm than good. In fact, there may be the need to set up a mechanism, through which the cases of the erring lecturers are reported and investigated. Once convicted, they should be sanctioned in order to serve as deterrents to the others. This is how sanity can be returned to our schools. Change should not only be limited to the ministries, departments and agencies in Nigeria, it must also touch upon our universities. We are in the era of change!
