A 22-year-old Lagos trader, Kuburat Sanni has stabbed a woman for allegedly dating her husband.

Vanguard reports that the victim, Miss Mariam Bala, 20, had gone to No. 18, Akindia St., Agege, Lagos, to deliver a message from her mother to her elder sister who lives in the same house with Sanni. On getting to the house, Sanni who claimed Bala was dating her husband and has had multiple abortions for him, locked her in a room. She called area boys who tore Bala’s clothes, stabbing her severally with Knives, broken bottles and scissors all over.

After much loss of blood, the victim fainted and would have died if not for the prompt intervention of neighbours who rushed her to a nearby hospital. The issue has however been taken to court and Sanusi has been arrested while others are still at large over the July 9 incident.

In the court of law, it was made know that in the process of assaulting the complainant, her phone, valued at N20,000 and N30,000 cash which was to be deliver to her sister was stolen from her. The offences, the Prosecutor, Mr Kehinde Olatunde, said, contravened sections 166, 171 and 410 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011. Section 171 prescribes a 3-year jail term as penalty for offenders.
